End-User License Agreement
The license terms governing the FrothIQ Defense plugin and its use with the FrothIQ hosted service.
Last updated: April 23, 2026
1. The plugin
The FrothIQ Defense WordPress plugin is distributed under the GNU General Public License v2.0 or later (GPL-2.0-or-later). That license governs your rights to use, modify, and redistribute the plugin’s source code. You can read the full GPL at gnu.org/licenses/gpl-2.0.html.
This EULA does not modify or restrict any rights you have under the GPL. It only governs your use of the FrothIQ hosted threat-intelligence service that the plugin optionally communicates with.
2. The hosted service
When the plugin is configured with a license key and enabled, it communicates with FrothIQ’s hosted service to receive updated threat intelligence, push blocking decisions to shared reputation lists, and populate the operator dashboard. This communication is optional: you can run the plugin in a fully-local mode without a license key and without accepting this EULA. Local mode gives you basic protection; cloud-backed protection and centralized management require the hosted service.
3. Acceptance
You accept this EULA the first time the plugin is activated on your site, via a dedicated acceptance screen. Until you accept, the plugin does not block, score, or log any traffic. You can revoke acceptance at any time by deactivating the plugin or by explicitly clearing the EULA acceptance flag in the plugin settings.
4. License grant for the hosted service
Subject to the Terms of Service and this EULA, OrbWeaver grants you a non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to access and use the FrothIQ hosted service for the purpose of protecting sites you own or operate under authorization.
5. Restrictions
You agree not to:
- Use the hosted service to protect sites you do not own or have no authorization to protect
- Resell, rent, or lease access to the hosted service without a written agreement
- Attempt to circumvent tenant isolation, license enforcement, or rate limiting
- Use the plugin or the hosted service in violation of applicable law
6. Updates
We may update the plugin and hosted service periodically to add features, fix bugs, and update threat intelligence. Updates to the plugin are delivered through the standard WordPress plugin update mechanism. Major changes affecting your use of the service will be announced in advance.
7. Termination
This EULA remains in effect until terminated. It terminates automatically if: (a) you deactivate or uninstall the plugin; (b) you clear the EULA acceptance flag; (c) OrbWeaver terminates the hosted service to you for violation of these terms. On termination, the hosted-service license ends; your rights to the plugin source under the GPL continue unaffected.
8. Warranty disclaimer
The plugin and hosted service are provided “as is” without warranty of any kind. See Section 5 of the Terms of Service for the full disclaimer and Section 6 for the limitation of liability, which are incorporated by reference.
9. Open-source notice
The plugin is open-source (GPL-2.0-or-later). The plugin source is publicly available. Nothing in this EULA is intended to restrict any rights granted to you by the GPL.
